Swansea City to face Premier League opposition in chase for ex-Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City loanee

A report from Football Insider has claimed that Premier League new boys Norwich City are interested in signing Chelsea playmaker Kasey Palmer, who has been linked with a move to Championship side Swansea City.

We reported here on The72 earlier this week that Steve Cooper was keen to bring in Chelsea playmaker Kasey Palmer on loan for the upcoming Championship season, as the former England youth coach looks to kick on with his summer recruitment.

However, it has now been claimed that Norwich City are also interested in bringing in Palmer this summer, with the Canaries interested in a permanent swoop for the Chelsea attacker. Daniel Farke’s side have reportedly made an approach for Palmer already, with a price tag of £4 million being mentioned.

The report writes that “multiple clubs across England” are interested in Palmer, so both the Canaries and the Swans look set to face a fight to secure the services of the former England youngster this summer.

With parent club Chelsea, Palmer is yet to make an appearance for the first-team but has played plenty for the club’s youth sides. The 22-year-old has featured 39 times for the club’s Under-23s, scoring 10 goals and assisting three times. He has also played 16 times in the UEFA Youth League, scoring six and laying on two assists.

He has spent time on loan with Huddersfield Town, Derby County and Blackburn Rovers, most recently enjoying a successful 17 games spell with Bristol City and was linked with a return to Ashton Gate this summer. Now, it awaits to be seen where Palmer plays his football next season, and if he leaves Chelsea on a temporary or permanent basis – providing that he makes a move away from Stamford Bridge.
