Leeds United are not known for gathering admirers wherever they go, but if you asked the Whites fans, they will not care. It appears, through a recent interview, that some of their players don’t care what people think either.
Club captain Liam Cooper has been speaking at a recent Q&A event regarding his preferences in grounds to visit within the Championship and some of his thoughts are very interesting to say the least.
The Scotland international has been quoted as saying that his preferred ground to visit is Nottingham Forest’s City Ground, stating that the generous allocation for travelling Leeds fans and the atmosphere as reasons, but it would fall in second should Aston Villa still share their league status, claiming that “Villa Park is brilliant”.
However, he was not quite so complimentary about Brentford’s Griffin Park
As part of the Q&A event at Elland Road, Cooper had this to say regarding his favourite grounds within the Championship…
“Favourite [away ground] would probably be – I like the Forest ground, the atmosphere is always good [and] we always get a good allocation”
“But if, obviously, Aston Villa are still in the league I’d say that. Villa Park is brilliant”.
The worst [away stadium] – Brentford. Hate the place.
“The changing rooms are tiny and, let’s put it this way, nobody fits on the toilet.“
Fighting talk from Liam Cooper as he could not resist a dig at the new home of his former defensive partner at Elland Road.
