Bayern Munich are facing the prospect of their first season without a league title in 12 years.

In an era of true dominance, Bayern have won the Bundesliga title for 11-straight seasons but look likely to miss out on the crown this term with Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen side running riot.

Missing out on the title would be a huge blow for everybody, most notably Harry Kane who moved to Germany in the hope of winning his first-ever league title after leaving Tottenham last summer.

A record-breaking campaign for Kane in which he is close to 40 goals for the season looks like it won't be enough to claim silverware for a player who dreams of doing just that when he started his professional career.

Kane was just 18 when Bayern were last beaten to the title by Jurgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund in 2012 at a time when his career looked very different.

Having scored five goals in 18 appearances on loan with Leyton Orient, Kane was given his first chance to shine for Tottenham in the 2011/12 season.

After making his debut in a Europa League qualifier against Hearts, Kane made six appearances in the competition where he lined up alongside Gareth Bale Rafael Van der Vaart, Luka Modric, Jermain Defoe and Kyle Walker.

But in January 2012, Kane was sent on loan to Millwall in an effort to play more regular first team football where he lined up alongside Championship stalwarts including Darius Henderson, Andy Keogh and his friend and Tottenham teammate, Ryan Mason who also headed to The Den on loan.

While Tottenham finished fourth in the Premier League and reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, Kane and Millwall found themselves in a relegation fight and struggled to a 16th-place finish in the Championship.

However Kane showed his undoubted potential, scoring nine goals and grabbing five assists in a pretty poor second-tier side.

The striker's stock had risen significantly due to his loan spell with Millwall in 2011/12, however the following season would see expectations tempered as he struggled during spells with Norwich City and Leicester.

When opportunity knocked for Kane, the striker certainly answered with 280 goals in 435 games in the 11 years that followed, the sort of record that earned him a huge move to the current German champions.

But with the title slipping away, Kane will be praying that his move to Germany proves to be worthwhile as he looks to end his career-long wait for a major trophy.

An injury scare before the international break looks like it's nothing to worry about as he was spotted running and kicking balls at Bayern's training session.
